Event:
A memorable, musical Mothers Day
Want something unusual to do with mum on Mother's Day this year? I have the perfect event for you with beautiful classical music in a dramatic historical building. Queensland Baroque, led by internationally acclaimed Artistic Director John Foster, is presenting a special Mother's Day Concert. It will feature the timeless music of Antonio Vivaldi and the fantastic talents of guest soloist, Lathika Vithanage on Baroque Violin. This is a lovely way for you and your mum to spend an afternoon together. And to top it off, all mothers will receive a free glass of bubbly. Cheers to that.

Antonio Vivaldi
Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (1678 -to1741) was an Italian Baroque musical composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, and priest. He was born in Venice, and is regarded as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and he was very influential across Europe. He composed many instrumental concertos, mainly for the violin but also many other instruments, as well as more than forty operas. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons. As a little aside, clinical studies have proven that listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons calms babies. I can attest to that.

Saint Andrew's Uniting Church
Saint Andrews, on the corner of Ann and Creek Streets of Brisbane CBD, is of the Neo-Romanesque style of architecture. It was designed by George David Payne and is an excellent example of its kind. Check out the Peace Chapel with World War honour boards, the communion set from Gallipoli, stained glass windows by William Bustard and the Vera Wade Gallery.
