Antonio Vivaldi Antonio Lucio Vivaldi (1678 -to1741) was an Italian Baroque musical composer, virtuoso violinist, teacher, and priest. He was born in Venice, and is regarded as one of the greatest Baroque composers, and he was very influential across Europe. He composed many instrumental concertos, mainly for the violin but also many other instruments, as well as more than forty operas. His best-known work is a series of violin concertos known as the Four Seasons. As a little aside, clinical studies have proven that listening to Vivaldi's Four Seasons calms babies. I can attest to that.
