Wollongong is going to certainly light up this November with this amazing and fun family-friendly Festival!
The Viva La Gong Festival will be filled with plenty of things to see, do and experience ranging from children activities, live performances, foods, circus, arts and crafts, games and with a fantastic line-up program that will include homegrown talent- this event is certainly one to attend!
The Festival will showcase live music performances from the region's diverse community including home-grown musical acts, wide-range of activities for all ages, and of course the Festival will include a street parade.
There will be plenty of events ranging from the arts, food, art and design market, creative dialogues, creative zone, three main stages, Scouts Adventure Playground, and the family interactive zone.
The Family Interactive Zone will include a Men's Shed, climbing wall, sculpture making from clay, circus workshop and playground, hula hoop class, theatrical performance, ball juggling class, sand and water sculpture making and the Scouts Adventure Playground where everyone can get active and learn some fun games as well as survival skills!
Learn how to hand make wool felt from scratch, put together box kites, umbrella painting, glitter and decorating, discover how to make beautiful origami Lotus flowers, or get creative by painting a lantern, make clay pendants from scratch, learn about Aboriginal Art, Sand Art, henna artistry and much more at the Creative Zone.
Be entertained with the plenty of music, dance and live performances at the three stages throughout the event ranging from acoustic, solos, pop classics, electric twist, Celtic, folk and country mash-up, choir, and more musical and dance talent shows.
Do check out the Folk Festival Lounge where you will find a snapshot of some of Wollongong's top home-grown folk artists, carbaret shows, circus shows and other entertaining shows.
Do take some time out and sit back and relax with the wonders of delights of foods available throughout the festival with the Cafe de Rude that will include a cafe, fruit and vegetable juggling act, live music performances, microwave to plate class, kid's joke competition, karaoke competition, and enjoy the International Food Fair with delicious foods ranging from Russian crepes, Mexican burritos, Turkish baklava, Chinese dumplings, Nepalese skewers, Italian woodfired pizzas, hot dogs, sweets and drinks.
Discover the creative talent at the Art & Design Markets where there will be plenty of art and design markets showcasing local designers, artisans and crafters.
Finally, enjoy discussion-provoking events that will celebrate cultural development and creativity at the Creative Dialogue!
