If you've been anywhere near Westfield Marion recently you can't have missed the new SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre. What was once a giant building site has now become the impressive aquatic centre aimed at swimmers, athletes, school groups and families. Whether you are looking for a fun activity, or wanting to get fit, the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre has facilities to cater to everyone.
For families the centre offers many opportunities to parents and children alike. It features a water playground, not only lots of fun it can also help water shy children gain confidence. Kids over 10 will also have a ball on the water slides that are open on weekends. They're $2 a pop, so you might not want to let them go too crazy on them.
Competition pools and diving platforms are available for the more serious swimmers. Show off your prowess in the water or just prepare for your next event. The more laid back swimmers can relax in the Leisure pool or try and hone your skills in the Learn to Swim pool.
Opening in July the centre offers another benefit with its health club opening. Get first in the pool or the gym, or if you're more of a team player join one of the group fitness classes. If you just want to relax try out the spas or steam room and unwind.
There are memberships and classes available, visit the centre to speak to staff or give them a call on (08) 8198 0198 to find out more details. Casual swims range from $5.80 for a child and $19.80 for a family. All casual swim prices are shown on the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre website. For updates on the centre follow their Facebook or Twitter pages.
Waterslides can only be used by people who meet all of three requirements: 1) You must be over 10 years of age. 2) You must be over 120cm tall. 3) You must be a competant swimmer.
