The Turtle Trail, of which the Coral Coast walk is part of,takes you in two directions. You can walk south to Kelly's Beach or north for short distances, or go all the way to the lighthouse at Burnett Heads, taking roughly an hour and a half to reach.
The walkway takes you past Mon Repos, the largest accessible turtle rookery on mainland Australia. The area is watched over and protected but can be accessed by people for beach activities and to watch the amazing spectacle that becomes turtle nesting season. Rangers do guided walks and the education center is set up for your viewing and learning pleasure.
This whole region stretching along the coast line is full of small towns and accommodations from Port Bundaberg to Riverview. You can explore one or all of them, walking or riding it all, if you so choose.
