Phoebe and her unicorn friend, Marigold Heavenly Nostrils, are back in Virtual Unicorn Experience, the 12th book in the series. If you haven't read any of the previous books, it really doesn't matter- all you need to know is that a little girl named Phoebe has a unicorn for a best friend. That being said, it's definitely worth checking out the previous books in the series, such as Camping With Unicorns and Razzle Dazzle Unicorn, because they're a load of good, clean fun for children and adults alike.
This time Phoebe visits a science museum (leading to the virtual reality experience of the title), and tries to get better at handball using magic, and bonds with her frenemy Dakota over their shared love for the TV show Confetti Canyon. Marigold is summoned for jury duty, Phoebe briefly gains a tail, and her dad continues to be nerdy and old (at least from Phoebe's point of view).
Virtual Unicorn Experience is a wholesome, fun read for ages around 8 and up, but it will appeal to adults too, especially fans of unicorns or comics like Calvin and Hobbes.
