There have been plenty of virtual cocktail classes available during lockdown, but what I like about this one is that they send you all the equipment rather than the booze, which you are already likely to have in your house (unless your drank it all). The eight-piece cocktail kit is delivered directly to you and the price includes shipping. The professional kit includes:

2 x Spirit pourers
Hawthorn strainer 4 prong
Boston shaker tin stainless steel 28oz
Boston shaker mixing glass
Beechwood Muddler
Double jigger
Conical strainer

Then head to your local bottle shop or supermarket to buy the basic ingredients before the class if you don't already have them at home. But you are likely to have many of them as they include items such as your favourite bottle of gin or vodka, sugar syrup (made at home with sugar and water!), soda water, honey, lime, and eggs.

Next, join expert mixologists at Kubarz for a live streaming cocktail making class.

Then from the comfort of home, share a fun, live, interactive cocktail class or enjoy online with some like-minded others. The class is conducted via a zoom link, so you can have your camera on or off, to interact as much or as little as you like.)

Classes run for 60 minutes and are kept small, so you can easily ask questions and get immediate responses.

In your cocktail making kit, you'll find all of the tools you'll need to shake like a professional.

The events are for people of all skill sets wanting a fun experience. You'll be able to sip on one cocktail as you learn how to shake the next in this fun, interactive online class. The kits are $69, but if you just want to do the class without the kit it is $35.

For the gin class, you are likely to make a Honey & Blueberry Gin Martini, Grapefruit Gin Martini, Gin Sour and Southside cocktail.

For the vodka class, you will get all the step you need to make a Caipiroska, Moscow Mule, Espresso Martini and Vodka Colada.

While we can all find recipes for such cocktails, what these classes give you are the bartender techniques, as well as a fun interactive and entertaining experience. You can book cocktail classes here.

As well as doing it on your own or with your partner, you can also organise private groups for a virtual cocktail class, be it with friends, family or a zoom meeting with workmates.

You might be able to organise those Friday night after work drinks after all! If organising a group you need a minimum of 15 people. Contact Kubarz on 1300 989 366 or info@kubarz.com.au for more info.
