According to the Merriam-Webster online dictionary, the word 'viridian' is derived from the Latin word 'viridis', which means green, a dark shade of spring green, that sits between green and teal on the colour wheel.
And this is what we discovered … Viridian Circuit Park is an aptly descriptive name for a well-equipped family park in Birtinya, a suburb of Kawana Waters, that is surrounded by pathways that meander lazily through a spectrum of Mother Nature's lavish green hues.
A fabulous family destination ... see the duck taking off, bottom left hand side!

Pack a picnic, there are heaps of BBQ and undercover picnic spots, with tranquil water views and on the Sunday morning that we visited, we were pleasantly surprised to find quite a few ready and available for that special celebration in the family. An on-site toilet block and fresh drinking water ensures that longer visits are easily accommodated, with comfort in mind.

Walkers will discover bench seating at the northern end of Viridian Circuit Park overlooking the river - a welcoming invitation to take a seat, relax and enjoy the local birdlife on and around the water. Look out for the ducks skimming across the water!
Route to Kawana Forest Nature Walk, my 'walk for another day'!
For those overly ambitious adventurers, who wish to add to their exploration itinerary, the Viridian Circuit pathway in the south-east corner of the park, passes beneath Kawana Way and the walk continues through to the Kawana Forest Nature Walk - keep an eye out for this 'walk for another day.'
From Kawana Way turn into Barney Moy Road at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital. Turn right into Birtinya Boulevard, then after travelling for approximately one kilometre, turn left into Viridian Circuit. There is ample parking available next to the raised BBQ area and the toilet block.
