Calling All Bargain Hunters
The stately and elegant 19th century Como House seems the perfect location for a vintage clothing sale. This event is being organised and run by National Trust volunteers, with funds raised going to the conservation and display of garments in the Trust's extensive Costume Collection.
Como House, location for the vintage clothing sale
This year's vintage clothing sale is being billed as the biggest yet. There is so much stock that not only will the sale take over Como's ballroom (as has happened in past years), but it will also cover the entire ground floor, transforming Como House into one big vintage emporium. There will be a series of boutique retro outfitters, selling 20th century outfits and accessories to enhance your wardrobe.

You will also be able to find many designer garments, with brands such as Kenzo, Chanel and Ferragamo featuring amongst the clothing on offer. Additionally, there will be haberdashery, accessories, millinery and men's wear. The Vintage Clothing Sale has something for everyone. All garments are very reasonably priced, with prices ranging from $10 - $40.

All that shopping may be tiring so if you need a break, the Stables Cafe at Como will be open for brunches, pastries and coffee.
The Vintage Clothing Sale is taking place on Saturday March 15 and Sunday March 16, 2014, from 10am to 4pm each day, at Como House, located at the corner of Williams Rd and Lechlade Ave, South Yarra. If there's anything left by Sunday afternoon, all remaining items will be half price.
