While it is an issue dividing public opinion, now is not the best time to remain inconspicuous if you are against the death penalty, and wish to show your support for these grieving families.
Tomorrow night, 18th of February, the families of Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan are are holding vigils for their sons.
As Ben Quilty, the Archibald winning artist who has become close to Myuran, says on his Facebook: "Myu is clearing out his studio today. And my heart is broken."
He went on to say: "Please come and show that compassion is at the core of our community."
Vigils will be held in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth on Wednesday the 18th Feb, and will include prominent speakers and entertainers.
Melbourne, Federation Square, with guest speakers and musical performances, Eddie Perfect. Missy Higgins, Clare Bowditch, Paul Dempsey, Bob Evans. and Mick Thomas. From 7.30pm.
Sydney, at the Sukumaran Family C3 Church, 25 Octavia Street, Toongabbie. MC Craig Reucassel will be there, with guest speakers including Alan Jones AO, The Reverend Bill Crews, Myu's Grandma Edith Visvanathan, and musical performances by Mahalia Barnes and more. From 7.30pm.
In
Perth, Stand with Myu and Andrew's families for mercy. Musicians, including Abbe May and Kav Temperley from Eskimo Joe, will perform, with more to be announced shortly. Wesley Uniting Church, 97 William Street, Perth 6pm-7pm tomorrow night, Wednesday 18th February.
