If you've ever been to the Montague Farm Estate in Adelaide's north, you may have noticed that most of the street signs are dedicated to a particular soldier. You may even be surprised to learn that the entire Montague Farm Estate was dedicated to all Australians who served, suffered and died in the Vietnam War.
There were 521 Australian servicemen killed in the war, 58 of them came from SA and most of them are commemorated in the reserve and street names around the Montague Farm Estate.
Vietnam Veterans Day is a national day on 18th August every year and is a day for all Australians to pay their respects to those who served in Vietnam.
A ceremony will be held at 11am at Henderson Square on Sunday the 18th of August (the anniversary of the Battle of Long Tan) in honour of Vietnam Veterans Day.
