This new little Vietnamese Restaurant is holding its own! Situated at Colonnades in Port Noarlunga and right beside some other (big) popular eateries, Viet La Vie has really started to develop a presence. It's one of the new places that have recently opened with the expansion at colonnades, which saw Aldi and Cibo become a part of the renovated mall area.
Viet La Vie Bar
We discovered just how good this little spot was after a spin class when a friend suggested take away beef noodle soup from Viet La Vie for dinner. It's healthy and on a cold rainy night, all sweaty and fatigued from a tuff spin session, the hot Beef Noodle soup (Pho) seriously did the trick.
The tasty spot is owned by Tai and Trinh, who have lived in Australia for the last 20 years, raising children and eventually starting this restaurant, which is really a family affair. Trisha, their daughter, works behind the scenes in the back or on social media. The recipes are Vietnamese family favourites with a few customised Asian dishes to treat local preferences as well.
The chefs are all from Vietnam which is probably why there is such variety in the flavors. They often have a specials board out front highlighting a different special each week. Other offers pop up on Facebook and Instagram.
Who doesn't love a special?
The takeaway option is a great one on a winter's day or night and they really pack the food well, so that you don't have to worry about the soup experience being mainly on the seat of the car.
The restaurant is also spacious enough for groups to get together for dinner or lunch. Or even dinner before a movie at the cinemas nearby. That's pretty much all you need to know if you decide to ... go the pho!
