This exhibition entails of highly-detailed hand-drawn pointillism portraiture with striking digital brush to create pieces that capture the memorable moments from this quintessentially Aussie film and digs deeper into the soul of its heroine. Enter the world of Muriel Heslop and follow her story as she flees her mundane world in coastal Aussie suburbia for the big smoke of early 90s Sydney in an attempt to write a new narrative for herself.
Flamboyant, 80s-inspired retro-pop graphics coupled with intricately detailed pointillism portraits reflect the delicate dance between comedy and tragedy found in the film; contrasts that have made it a much-loved classic. This exhibition is here for a good time, not a long time, so don't miss out! ArtBoy is a vibrant arts space that believes art should be accessible to all.
