Melbourne's premier multicultural festival is around the corner and this year it will be bigger and better than ever! All are invited to Victoria's Multicultural Festival which will be hosted by the Victorian Multicultural Commission during the Cultural Diversity week at Federation Square.

The impressive programme itinerary has been structured to highlight and showcase the diverse and flamboyant cultures which make our state such a fabulous melting pot of cultures and traditions from all corners of the world. Introduce your taste buds to a wide array of food stalls serving food from part of the world. There will be opportunities to savour Cuban, Korean, Indian, Spanish, Peruvian, Indonesian, Chinese, Croatian, Moroccan, East African, German and Greek cuisines. The food stalls will be located at Culture Bites on River Terrace.

Music lovers will have a fantastic time enjoying wonderful music and dance performances by local and famous performers including the likes of Nhatty Man and Gara. Take your pick from K-Pop, Latin dance, indigenous B-boys, African dance, Afro-Cuban and exotic reggae. There will also be arts and crafts, kid's activities, roving performances and more. Stain your hands with beautiful drawings using henna, learn about the art of tea making or try something different like getting your turban tied.

River Terrace will also provide a platform for free yoga classes for all. Classes will run for 20 minutes at 12.20pm, 12.40pm, 1.00pm and 1.40pm. People of all ages can partake in these yoga classes. African drumming worshops will be a crowd-pleaser, where you can try your hand at something unique. Drumming workshops will run for 30 mins at 2.30pm and 3.30pm on the River Terrace.

There will be a Kid's zone where the little ones will be thrilled by a horde of free activities including face painting and African storytelling. Kids can join workshops to make cultural dress-up puppets, recycled instruments an indigenous bush toys. The presentation of prizes for the Immigration Museum's Primary School Short Film Competition will be held close to the kids' zone at 12.30pm.

The Arts Precinct in the Atrium will transform into a bazaar where market stalls will be selling merchandise from all over the world. Festival-goers will also be able to visit the Koorie Heritage Trust to immerse themselves in two special exhibitions showcasing the works of Taungurung/Wurundjeri artist Cassie Leatham and Wergaia/Wemba Wemba artist Kelly Koumalatsos.

Remember to bring some cash (since some vendors may not have EFTPOS machines), comfortable shoes and your adventurous spirit. It will be a jam-packed day which undoubtedly will create many wonderful memories.

On 24 March 2018, the Victoria Multicultural Festival will be held with a bang at the Federation Square from 12pm to 5pm. Federation Square is located opposite Flinders Street railway station. More information can be found in the official website .
