It's not always easy for those in NYC to head over to Coney Island, Great Adventure or one of the other amusement parks in
New York or New Jersey. is a great alternative. Located right in Central Park, it provides easy access for families to enjoy a great day out with each other without the hassle of a long drive. They opened in 2003 and are housed on the 50,000 square foot Wollman ice skating rink.

There's plenty of rides and games for kids and the kids-at-heart including Whac-A-Mole. Happy Swing, Rising Waters the Fun Slide and more. One of the best rides in the park, the Aeromax, gives riders views of the park and NYC. On the weekends there's entertainment available including a circus, a magic show and a juggling show. The Victorian Gardens Amusement Park is open every day, but times vary. Their schedule calendar gives you all the opening and closing times you need. During the week, park admission is $6.50 and on weekends and holidays admission is $7.50. Children under 36" tall get in free with a paying adult. Every day, the cost for rides is $1 per ticket with 3 tickets necessary per ride and 4 tickets necessary per game. An unlimited ride wristband is $14 during the week and $16 on weekends and holidays; it doesn't include games.

To get to the Victoria Gardens Amusement Park, enter Central Park at 59th Street and 6th Avenue. Busses and subways also go to the area. For more information, check out their web site .
