Celebrate the spring season with food and beverage, in-person events and experiences without breaking the bank thanks to the State Government of Victoria.

Everyone fondly remembers the City of Melbourne's popular dining rebate programme called Melbourne Money and its second iteration Midweek Melbourne Money which offered even more rebates in 2021. The State Government of Victoria then introduced the Victorian Dining & Entertainment Program in March 2022 with $45 million worth of rebates. This program is back with a $25 million fund.

You can enjoy rebates on your dining and entertainment expenses across Victoria on a first-in-best-served basis from now until 11:59pm Friday 16 December 2022 or prior if available funds are exhausted. That's up to a total of $125 in combined rebates across dining and entertainment per person. Check the Dining website and Entertainment website for regular updates on the remaining program funds before submitting your claim.

How to use the Dining & Entertainment Program?

Whether you're having a meal or enjoying an entertainment experience around Victoria, you can claim 25% back on a minimum of $40 spend (including GST) in a single receipt. Unlike the previous version, you can make your purchase anywhere in Victoria and at any day of the week.

Dining rebates however are only available at eligible hospitality venues. They include cafés and restaurants, bars and pubs, breweries and distilleries, registered clubs, fast food and takeaway outlets, juice bars, kiosks, food courts, coffee/cake and delicatessen venues, hospitality venues within sporting, arts and theatre precincts, cinemas and food trucks. Do note that food must be purchased alongside alcohol for your bill to be eligible. No food delivery receipts are accepted.

Entertainment rebates are only available at cinemas, exhibitions, conferences, museums, galleries, zoos, theme parks, water parks, amusement parks, experiences, attractions and live performances including theatre, music, comedy, literary events and fashion shows. However sport and sporting events (including entry to sporting facilities, season passes, sport classes, personal fitness and any sport events) are not included in the program.

These rebates are excellent money savers for a day out with family and friends, as well as trips or tours around Victoria where you're taking in the sights, attractions and enjoying meals in regional restaurants. Remember, you are only entitled to a maximum rebate of $125 for both dining and entertainment to your nominated bank account. You cannot claim rebates across multiple bank accounts. You also need an Australian bank account to access this program.
