The Victoria Street Lunar Festival for 2020 celebrates the Year of the Rat. Held on Sunday 19 January 2020 from 12pm to 11pm at Victoria Street, Richmond, the Festival opens at 11am for stalls with content starting on most stages at 12pm. Entertainment generally ends around 10.30pm with bars and food vendors open till 11pm.

The Lion Dance and Dragon Dance will parade through the streets to welcome people of all cultural backgrounds to the celebrations. Head over for a vibrant, colourful and culturally rich experience. Between 60 to 80 thousand people did last year throughout the day. It's something to think about for those who'd like to help sponsor the event and give their business lots of exposure at a Festival with such a huge attendance.

Celebrating 20 years of bringing multicultural performances and Asian food to the community, the streets will be lined with food, business, charity and community stalls, adding to the vibe of the event. Enjoy over 60 performance and entertainment activities, 100 plus food options, games and rides, kids zone, food, health and wellness hubs featuring cooking classes, competitions and expert talks, firecrackers and more, so head over to the Biggest Street Festival in Victoria. Otao Kitchen also runs Asian cooking classes and more outside the event, so check their website for more information.

The famous Pho Eating Competition is back for 2020, so if you'd like to test your steel and put the pedal to the metal in slooshing down all that pho down your throat, fill in the Entry Form! There's a $1000 (half cash, half voucher) first prize up for grabs with $500 and $300 to be won in 2nd and 3rd place, again with a cash/voucher combo in prizes. If performing is what you'd like to do, get yourself noticed at one of the most successful public events in the City of Yarra, fill out the Performer Expression of Interest. If you'd like to have a stall at the Festival, you can put in your Expression of Interest online. For more information about what's happening at the festival, keep your eyes peeled on the event page the Facebook page and the website. Updates will happen closer to date.
