"Would you tell me , please, which way I ought to go from here?" Alice politely asks. Continue the journey as you grab your paddle for a ride Down the Wicked River with a naughty single malt, salted caramel, chestnut liquor smoked with Australian paper bark and draped over a chilled black rock precariously placed in your delicate crystal glass. Smoothly decadent and full of toffee flavours, the magic is all in the presentation.
"Curioser and cruiser!" .. yes I certainly was curious as the cocktails kept coming. I was not curious at all about Fresh Pickings as it sounded like a garden bed to me and considering the accompanying vegetable platter, although beautifully presented, it was just a mix of vegetables .. a unique accompaniment to cocktails but very well suited to this particular cocktail.Tequila infused with golden marigolds and dressed with cointreau noir, celery shrub bitters and delicately dusted with cinnamon and chocolate powder. Loved the spicy cinnamon finish but the garden bed liquid was not for me.
"But I don't want to go among mad people" Alice remarked "Oh, you can't help that" said the Cat "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad". Keep exploring the madness of the Mad Hatter as you are tempted by Mosaic Hopping, the next of the crazy concoctions showcased by David Green. Appleton 8, Licor 43 and pineapple juice topped with the most unusual Aloe Vera foam and complimented by smoked cinnamon. What an amazing blend of flavours.
