Find your fanciest frock and dust off your pearls, because the Victoria Room Tea Salon is one classy establishment. The Tea Salon isn't actually located at the extravagant Victoria Room in Darlinghurst, instead, you'll find it on the fourth floor of Westfield Sydney. It is instantly inviting, set amongst the sometimes cold designer stores, the Tea Salon is fun, pretty, and completely delightful.

You may struggle bringing your man along for a bite to eat, plush pink and white seats sit at tables with pink menus, and a gorgeous white fence surrounds the small oasis. The centre table is topped with delicious looking cakes, and a shiny chandelier topped with fake cupcakes and treats. So if you know someone who is a bit adverse to the colour pink they might have reservations, show them a copy of the menu, and they might quickly change their mind.

The Tea Salon is ideal for breakfast or lunch. Their morning tea menu runs until 11:30, and includes scones topped with cream and jam, or a delicious cheddar and thyme scone with smoked Atlantic salmon, creme fraiche, and dill. You can try the heartier poached free range eggs with pancetta and roast tomato, on house-made polenta and corn loaf.

At lunch time the main meals include things like crispy skinned silver dory fillet with baby vine tomatoes, capers, and garlic confit, or zucchini and haloumi fritters with avocado salsa and fresh spring salad. Of course you can also choose from a range of sandwiches, including the quintessential cucumber sandwich.

Delicious cakes, sweets, tarts, and scones are available throughout the day. Their scone flavours are both sweet and savoury, and other delicious treats include the elderflower, marscapone, and raspberry tart, or the ricotta, fix, and chocolate cake. The worst bit about this menu is that sometimes it can really be too hard to choose. To sample a selection of sweets and sandwiches, you also can't go past the High Tea. It includes scones, sandwiches, sweets, and plenty of tea, and if you feel like upgrading you can even enjoy it with a glass of Moët.

Of course, being a tea salon, tea is also on the menu. There are a range of different teas for you to enjoy, from English Breakfast to Russian Caravan. They make the perfect accompaniment to any meal. Of course if you feel like being decadent, then you'll like the other side of the drinks menu. Choose from a selection of sparkling, white, red, or rosé wines, or pick on of the cocktails. These include the vanilla and rhubarb bellini, and of course the perfect high tea accompaniment, PIMMS. There are also sodas, milkshakes, and iced drinks you might like.

Whether you're after breakfast, brunch, lunch, or a sneaky treat in between, the Tea Salon makes a charming place to go. Choose the high tea as the perfect way to celebrate birthdays, engagements, or baby showers with a group of friends, or just stop off to take a break from a day of shopping in Pitt Street Mall.

The Westfield Sydney shopping complex is open 9:30am - 6:30pm on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 9:30am - 9:00pm on Thursday, and 10:00am - 6:00pm on Sunday.
