The Peak is Hong Kong's most famous tourist attraction, and is actually a shopping mall - it is free to enter the mall, but there is a fee to go onto the official viewing platform. The Peak tram up the mountain and especially back down again is a fun experience thanks to the alarming gradient. You can also catch a bus or hire a car or taxi.

Hong Kong is one of the most stunning cities in the world. The combination of skyscrapers, intense mountains and the ocean is unlike anywhere else - not bad for a fishing village! Hong Kong proper is the world's most vertical city. The iconic status of Hong Kong is the reason a simple viewing platform is such an essential part of any visit.

Sunglasses are a must, unfortunately, due to the sun's glare on the pollution haze.
