Help Shape Brisbane's Future Parklands
To coincide with the recent announcement by the Brisbane City Council of its plans to create the city's biggest new park in 50 years, a party (including with public consultation) will be held on the proposed site at Victoria Park on Sunday 22 September 2019.

It is expected that the 26-hectare council-owned Victoria Park Golf Course, (which is as big as about 45 football fields), will be transformed into large scale public parkland - double that in size of the Brisbane City Botanic Gardens. This will be the latest transformation of the park which in the past has been a quarry and a rifle range and an encampment for World War Two American troops.
The party will run from 10am - 3pm and will feature live music, food trucks and fun activities for kids. It's also a chance to have your say and share with Council your ideas on how you would like the park to look and feel. From 2021, works are expected to start to transform the golf course into public parkland.
Victoria Park is located two kilometres from the city centre on Herston Road, Herston.
