The Perfect park for exercising, boot camps or just relaxing
Victoria Park in Spring Hill is a large and very diverse park. It includes the Spring Hill Aquatic Centre, the Victoria Park Golf Complex and the lovely little Yorks Hollow. It also includes a section dedicated to exercise and fitness known as the Victoria Park Fitness Trail.
This section of the park lies on the Northern Bikeway which is a great place to ride, run or walk to the park. Then you can use the various exercise equipment following by a ride, walk or run home. The reason I like using exercise equipment in parks is part of this longer routine.

Finding parking can be a little bit of a challenge. There are parking spots in the side streets if you cross Gregory Terrace. You can also take public transportation to the park, with Normanby Bus Station being the closest.
The Victoria Park Fitness Trail consists of a range of back to classic equipment. Some parks now feature a wide range of innovative and varied exercise equipment. Victoria Park focuses on equipment that is much more basic. This is great if you are already fit, know how to workout and are just looking for equipment to enhance your natural exercises. This basic equipment really enhances an intense workout.
There are pull up bars, parallel bars as well as equipment for sit ups, legs lifts and so on. Like I said, nothing fancy, but perfect for someone who is already fit looking for a more intense workout. The signage is very clear. A lot of equipment recently added to parks around Brisbane do not provide any instructions or recommendations on how to use the equipment. In Victoria Park there is clear information for every item.

Locals do come to exercise here and there are often boot camps in this park, but many more people can be seen cycling or riding through without stopping. It does of course depend on the type of workout that you like to do. You could start or end your exercise routine here in the park, or you can use it as the middle point on a run.
