There's an unassuming little winery, on the way to Victor Harbor, that's well worth a visit.

Adrienne and Neville Scott established about twenty-five years ago. They produce cool climate red, white and fortified wines. The cellar door is open 10am until 5pm Wednesday to Sunday as well as public holidays.

Follow the signs to the carpark, where you'll see a rustic entry overlooking the vines.

Inside you'll find the welcoming presence of a combustion heater on wintery days and the friendly faces of Neville and Adrienne who will be only happy to tell you about their wines.

I particularly enjoyed tasting the Cabernet Malbec and the fortified wine ('everyone loves that one', said Adrienne).

The cellar door incorporates a dining area which can be booked for functions. You might also stay for home made cakes or scones and a cup of tea.

And while you are there, you'd be mad not to try some of the delightful produce from the nearby Hindmarsh Valley Dairy .

Denise, at the dairy, works with her happy, free range goats to produce a range of products including both pasteurised and unpasteurised goats milk, yoghurt, goat milk kefir, cottage cheese, fetta, halloumi, chevre and the very special Emme - a Swiss style raw milk cheese.
