on the Gold Coast Highway (Ferny Avenue) is near Cavill Avenue, the Esplanade and light rail , ferry and bus stop. There are shopping centres beneath the many other surrounding skyscrapers, making it an affordable and convenient place to stay.

Facts about the hotel:

The pool was large, had a good length and the water, very clear against a blue surface. It is located near a bar, so you can have a drink by the pool. The King Room comes with a safe, non-smoking, tremendous view in my case of some of the sea, rooftop gardens, the street below and other big-name hotels surrounding. The bathroom and bed were clean and polished. Some steps were taken to make the room hygienic beyond expectation and tea and coffee was made with a delightfully small kettle that slowly boils super hot water - served in paper cups. There was no china or spoons and no way to cook. There is also a tiny fridge but based on what I've seen, you're not really booked in to sit in there and do housework. It's more for a genuine escape or holiday, so the idea is to rest, not to work.

Shopping nearby is pretty good, Cavill Avenue is round the block, as are two light rail stops, a ferry stop at nearby Appel Park , and a bus stop outside. There is a lot to see and do, so the Vibe Hotel is good because it's priced at a happy medium, so you can book for longer but still enjoy luxury. The staff are really nice and helpful. I had my room ready in no time at all and I get to check out at 11am, which was based on my reservation which I paid upfront for - and a $50 bond payable on arrival, so that seemed reasonable for Gold Coast 4 star stays. Paid $143 AUD for one night at short notice**, mid-March, midweek. There's a lot to this, with parking charged onsite (self not valet), it's near the SkyPoint Observation deck, there is laundry, multi-lingual staff, fitness centre, 24-hour reception, conference facilities, while the reception staff highly recommended the level two bar.

I think, based on what I have seen in several accommodation options, is the Gold Coast is a unique market because it has such a **concentration of or density of accommodation options.

I'm happy to return to the Gold Coast despite the hustle and bustle. While it's a tremendous backdrop for working away at the computer, I find Surfers Paradise very interesting and the Gold Coast CBD is uniquely full-on. Thanks to the Vibe Hotel, they got me some pleasant people to check me in, a comfy room with a great view, thus a hint of serenity in this busy city. Thanks for a great value mid-week escape on the Gold Coast.
