Will you help sick children?
Very Special Kids Fair The fair will be held in the grounds of Very Special Kids on Saturday 24th November, from 9.00 am to 3.00 pm and it will be held at 321 Glenferrie Road, Malvern.
The Very Special Kids Fair is a chance to have quality time out with your whole family, and of course, it is for such a good cause!
The fair will have many things such as homemade cakes and preserves, fresh flowers and plants, quality toys and baby goods, as well as homewares and craft items. Many of these would make excellent Christmas presents and save you having to do some of your shopping later.
For the children, there will be performances from popular children's characters. There will also be things such as face painting, bungee trampolines, an animal farm and they can have photos taken with Santa.
Entry will be by gold coin donation and 100% of the proceeds will be going to Very Special Kids to support more than 900 families that the organisation is currently supporting.
More Information About the Event As the fair is environmentally conscious, you will need to bring an eco bag and a water bottle which you can refill at the water station.
This is going to be great fun for all, so mark the date in your phone, as you know you will be helping children who have grave illnesses.
Who Are Very Special Kids? Very Special Kids is a unique organisation that supports families who are going through the horrific ordeal of looking after their children who have life-threatening conditions. This support starts from diagnosis through to recovery or at worst, bereavement. These illnesses include neuro-degenerative, genetic conditions, muscular dystrophy, cancer and more. Sadly, many of these children will not get to be adults.
Very Special Kids will give both the family and the child emotional support. They have a team of professional staff, plus people who are trained volunteers.
They have a Very Special Kids House, which is Victoria's only children's hospice providing respite, emergency respite and end-of-life care. They also do hospital visits as well as counselling and this includes siblings.
Their hospice provides 24-hour specialist nursing care and this in a warm and welcoming environment. In addition to the children's hospice and main offices in Malvern, Very Special Kids provide family support through offices in Brunswick, Ballarat, Bendigo, Hastings, Pakenham, Shepparton, Torquay and Port Fairy.
There is far more they help with, and you can read more about this charity at this website.
These services cost about $5.6 million per year and they rely on the support of the community. All services to families and children are free of charge, so by attending this fair, any monies you spend will go to an extremely worthwhile and much-needed service.
