Introduce your little people to the magic of live theatre
I don't know any pre-schooler who does not love the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Very Hungry Caterpillar Show Riverside Theatres
The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle

This picture book has been a favourite for generations of children since it was first published in 1969. With its simple story and vibrant illustrations, as well as its quirky and unique layout with holes throughout the pages, there is a lot to love about this book.

Now children and their adults can enjoy the story on stage as JWR Productions Australia and Michael Sieders present The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show.

The show is based on the book by Eric Carle and uses 75 amazing puppets created by New York's Puppet Kitchen. In addition to The Very Hungry Caterpillar the show also features characters from other well known and much loved stories by Eric Carle, including The Artist Who Painted a Blue Horse, Mister Seahorse and The Very Lonely Firefly.

The Australian made show aims to "excite, educate and entertain" its young audience and perhaps introduce them to the joys of live theatre for the first time.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show was created by Jonathan Worsley and is directed by Naomi Edwards and produced by Michael Sieders, The show is performed by Gavin Clarke, Dannielle Jackson, Justine Warner & Drew Wilson.

The show was first performed in 2015 and was described by the Daily Telegraph as "a gorgeous little stage production for children aged one to seven that captivates with its clear storytelling, its fresh, bright design and its simple but inventive staging."

In 2016 the show is touring again in NSW and Queensland. For a full list of the shows and locations please click here.
