Specialising in Australian cuisine, at Westfield Marion Shopping Centre was first opened in 2009. It was originally called Sbar, before being changed to Verve in 2011. Verve is a word that means vigour, spirit and enthusiasm; a fitting description for the atmosphere of the restaurant. During our visit we ordered the Verve Burger, Steak Burger, Smoked Salmon Eggs, and Prawn & Chorizo pasta.

The beef patty in the Verve Burger was succulent and juicy with the beetroot, bacon, fried egg, caramelized onion and lettuce complementing it nicely; and the chilli jam rounding out the flavour of the burger. The chips I chose to accompany the burger were cooked to golden brown with the crisp exterior contrasting wonderfully with the fluffy interior. If you prefer something healthier, there is the option to have salad to accompany the burger instead of chips.

Although it is part of their breakfast selection, the Smoked Salmon Eggs can be ordered at any time of the day. It consisted of smoked salmon with a lovely smoked flavour, soft and fluffy scrambled eggs and crispy pieces of char grilled Turkish bread. For a bit of extra cost, you can add extras such as chorizo sausage and spinach to the dish to make it a bit more filling.

The penne pasta we chose for the Prawn & Chorizo Pasta was cooked to al dente with the Napolitano sauce bringing out its flavour. Mixed into the pasta was prawns that was cooked just right and chorizo sausage that added an extra element of flavour. Apart from the penne pasta, their pasta dishes can also be ordered made with fettuccine.

While we did not find it to be as tasty as the Verve Burger, the marinated steak in the Steak Burger was still cooked to perfection with the various toppings acting as good partners for the steak. The chips that accompanied the Steak Burger were done as well as the one that came with the Verve Burger with the option to have salad instead.

Verve hosts a wide range of daily events, such as Monday Trivia Night and Karaoke Tuesdays that you can participate in. Ambience was very cosy with a fireplace providing warmth during the colder months. Free parking is available at Westfield Shopping Centre's carpark.
