Vertigo/Moon Bar Bangkok
For an experience of the high life in Bangkok you can't go far wrong by quite literally getting high on the 61st floor of the Banyan Tree hotel. This open air restaurant and bar is open when the wind and rain aren't too heavy and offers amazing views of the business district of Thailand's capital city.
I visited as a backpacker and on a budget so we made do with one of the more expensive beers I have had in Thailand and without even looking at the food menu but the restaurant here is supposed to be top class. The 360 degree views here are really awe inspiring and you feel totally on top of the world. Our evening was cut short, however, by a torrential monsoon rainstorm which at first we thought we could tough out but soon changed our minds when it became clear that the wind and rain on the 61st floor is a lot more challenging than on the ground.
