A bright and funfilled take on a ladies fashion store
On entering this store, I really didn't envisage that it was my style but I really loved the neon sign and beautiful colours in the window so I popped in for a look. I was pleasantly surprised that while there was a lot there for the younger fashion conscious girl, there were also quite a few things which I would have loved to have taken home and called mine!

Verge Girl is an eclectic mix of modern youth fashion, vintage-styled and boho clothing which means there's something here for everyone. Often I feel a little 'old' at 31 when I walk into a store which is aimed at a much younger audience but the friendly shop assistant was very attentive and made me feel comfortable and that my fashion needs were important to her. It's now pretty rare to get such invested staff in retail stores so it was a really refreshing experience.

There is a sister-store in the Elizabeth Arcade in the city which mirrors the owners of the store, being two girls, Daniella and Natalia, who call themselves Verge Sisters. Their vision for the business came from their prior home town of Melbourne before they moved here in 2008 where alternative fashion is accessible and plentiful. The girls focus on affordable fashion and great customer service and love to support emerging designers.

It's not what you wear, but how you wear it.

With a variety of dresses, playsuits, shorts, pants and tops there is a great range to choose from without it being overwhelming. Outfits are displayed on mannequins with decorations that have a handmade and indie vibe to them. There is a huge range of the latest sunglass trends with candy pinks, tortoiseshell and matt grey frames to choose from. I found a few necklaces which I will be going back for and I'm sure to buy more than one!

This is a great shop for those who want to update their wardrobe but don't want to go to a large chain store and have the same clothes as the masses. Even those well past our early 20's will find something to suit our fashion sense and you'll get excellent customer service. It's definitely a place I'll be visiting again soon.
