The footy engenders the most passionate supporters, so for those of you who can't afford the Grand Final, your team didn't get in, or you'd just prefer to have a beer while occasionally glancing at the scores, there's plenty of places that are hosting an event just for you on Grand Final day. Look out for some great specials on Grand Final day. Here are some ideas:
Recently totally revamped in style, the Terminus Hotel has lots to show off every day of the week. Get lost in the spectacular Terminus Hotel beer garden. They are putting on a BBQ from 9am - 12pm. A 2-course lunch is available in the newly refurbished restaurant. Book your table and keep it for the day! 1.5L Carlton Draught Premiership Jugs are available all day pumped fresh from around the block. Live acoustics from the final siren with a DJ to finish off Grand Final day. You won't find a grander and more enchanting pub around.

The Hawthorn Hotel For obvious reasons, the Hawthorn Hotel has to be on the list this year. This is a popular pub for Uni students, locals and Hawks supporters. A ticket to the Hawthorn on grand final day costs $35 and includes that a reserved seat and four free pots of 5 Seeds or Boags (or wine). There's an all day BBQ and live music and entertainment straight after the game.
The landmark hotel on the corner of Johnson and Brunswick Streets, have a $65 footy package for Grand Final day. This includes: beer, wine, finger food and a courtyard BBQ. The Main bar will be open from 12 pm. A DJ will be spinning the music from 5.30pm. For the best value and delicious cheesecake, pop next door to Don Vincenzi.

The College Lawn Hotel The doors open from 11am for a party that will go all hours. A DJ starts after the game pumping out 80s hits. If you're looking for a big screens to watch an AFL grand final then this is a must consider…. they have 16 … so beat that!
Federation Square has the Grand Final showing on the (really) big screen. You'd better get there early because there are bound to be a few others with the same idea. Pack a picnic, slap on the sunscreen and a hat and you're set for the day. Check out the other Fed Square family footy and holiday events that are provided free all week.

Rydges, Melbourne If you feel like splashing it around a bit the Rydges could be the location for you. Just a hop skip and a jump away from the G. the footy fever package (from $249 per person) includes overnight accommodation, full buffet breakfast, welcome drinks before or after the game. If you need a bite to eat before or after the game, the Bella Bar has great specials on game nights. This sounds like a safe bet after a celebratory (or other) drink and a luxurious idea for grand final night.
With footy fever at a peak, this is not the time to be thinking on Saturday morning 'Where should I be?'. Good luck to your team.
