The annual Ventana Street Fiesta makes up part of Frankston's month long festival celebrating Latin American, Portuguese & Spanish culture.



Now in its tenth year, the vibrant festival incorporates live music, on-stage performances, international film screenings and art exhibitions.



The festivities kick off on the 26 February, with the official opening ceremony starting at 7pm at Frankston Arts Centre.

From 26 February to 12 March, you can experience craft and interdisciplinary arts at the Frankston Arts Centre as well as the White Street Mall.

Art exhibitions in Frankston Arts Centre features TrashArt by Leo Rodriguez and Emma Ikin. Using recycled materials, admire a collection of string instruments and Latin inspired costumes in the Cube Gallery; each with a story to tell.



TrashLation: Basurama Collective, is a collection of creative images by designers and artists from Madrid, Spain. In Spain's capital city, abandoned places have been revamped into playgrounds. The project has made an impact on communities, by resourcing trash to use in the undertaking.

In the Glass Cube Gallery, enjoy TrashBanquet by Leo Rodriguez, Emma Ikin, Jesús Moreta and Maria Peña; an installation that sees rubbish transformed into an elegant dining setting, with sounds and music by TrashArt instruments.

Ventana Street Fiesta

The Street Fiesta extravaganza takes place on Saturday 12 March from 11.45am - 8pm. Watch a parade of performers start at Frankston Beach and head toward Wells Street where all the action will be. Celebrate 10 years of Latino culture with Pupusafest tasting (the latest Latin American food craze) and plenty of live action including capoeira, lucha libre and soccer in the pop up stage.



Bring a flower to offer to the Queen of the Sea, and don't forget your drink bottle and dancing shoes.



Other festivities that make up part of this year's Ventana Fiesta includes the Ventana Pop Up Film Festival , Ventana Musica 2016 - Ara Ketu ; an on-stage Afro-fusion performance direct from Brazil on 10 March, and the Sunday Concert Series .
