Craig Reid is the pin-up man for middle aged weight challenged couch potatoes.

He has discovered how to make flab work for him, as instantly engages the audience while displaying razor sharp timing and dancing skills, and rescuing the hula-hoop from oblivion. The lights go down and multiple hulu hoops light up in kaleidoscopic frenzy.

And this is what the show is about: eye candy, noise, frenzy and spectacle.

Emma Goh (formerly from Queensland Ballet) soars into the air and gyrates with apparent ease, by herself and with Stephen Williams (National Institute of Circus Arts) whose body gives a whole new meaning to the word "toned".

Joe Accaria (Sydney Conservatorium) displays his skills as composer, musician, drummer and music director, while his dark suit and wrap-around mirrored sun-glasses evoke a "Men in Black" persona.

Richelle Mansour and Chaska Halliday gyrate and sing with enormous brio and energy, mostly as backing musicians though they are given their centre stage moment with a high energy rendition of "Turn the Beat Around".

Brendan MacLean shines – a great musical theatre presence and voice, and more than a little skill as an actor.

The star – no surprises here – is the unlikely senior citizen Marcia Hines. Still able to sell a song, and to give the description "Belter" a good name she shimmers across the stage in head to toe glitter and glamour, and commands the "cat-walk" every time she appears.

This show is disco cum cabaret cum circus.

There is, allegedly, a plot, which is the very thin thread on which to hang a series of hit songs and stagey aerial acts.

If what you want is disco sound, great presentation, infectious beat, and non stop spectacle and movement go no further.
