Organised Pandemonium present 'Velvet' starring Marcia Hinds running as part of Adelaide Fringe Festival at The Garden of Unearthly Delights: Spiegeltent at 8:30pm until March 13th. Created and Directed by Craig Ilott, Musically Directed by Joe Accaria with Choreograhy by Lucas Newland, Velvet is a sexy cocktail of disco, dance, burlesque and circus.

Starring an all-star cast of highly talented performers including Brendan Maclean (Vocals - Modern Day Mick Jagger), Stephen Williams (Acrobatics), Mirko Köckenberger (Strength Balance), Joe Accaria (Resident DJ), Emma Goh (Dancer & Aerialist), Craig Reid (The Incredible Hula Boy), Chaska Halliday (Dancer & Vocalist), Rechelle Mansour (Dancer& Vocalist) and the legendary diva, Marcia Hines (Vocals).

The show begins with the incredible strength balancing act by Mirko Köckenberger. He takes different sized suitcases and stacks them in positions that look unbalanced. The beautiful background dancers Halliday and Mansour were a gorgeous duo of attitude and sex-appeal at its best, and watching them dance-battle to the beat of Accaria's drum was on point. Halliday and Mansour proved they are not just incredible dancers, but sassy singers too, when they took to the stage with 'Turn The Beat Around' and 'He's the Greatest Dancer'.

Next a crucial part of every circus, which is the hula-hoopest, Unlike most circuses who have a glittered up female, Velvet brings us Craig Reid. His background in gymnastics combined with a hula-hoop and a dance routine makes him an unstoppable combination. He's confident, sassy and a crowd-pleaser when he takes to the stage. His hula-hoop routines combined with LED lighting made him the overall best hula-hoopest seen at this year's fringe festival.

The Stand-out performance was by performers Stephen Williams and Emma Goh's dominatrix aerial routine. This was very 50 Shades of Dance, it was raunchy, but tasteful and sexy. These two have an incredible on-stage chemistry.

Marcia Hinds has still got it, but no one ever doubted it since Velvet sold-out every night during the fringe season. Hinds took to the stage and the audience cheered, clapped and sang along with his superstar diva of disco. Bringing back all the classic hits the audience loved 'Boogie Wonderland', 'Never Knew Love Like This Before', 'It's Raining Men', 'Last Dance' and the incredible duo of Hinds and Maclean in 'You' and 'No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)'. Maclean's interruption of 'If You Could Read My Mind' was an incredible composition and amazing to watch live, followed by 'Staying Alive' sung acoustically.

Don't miss your chance to see this show live at The Garden of Unearthly Delights: The Spiegeltent until March 13th. 5/5 stars - an incredible combination of circus and cabaret.
