Really tastes as though it's lovingly made by a Vegie Mum

We chose this place for a girls-night-out, as it had wonderful reviews online (reassuring) and the prices were very reasonable! It was also away from the inner-city parking nightmare, nestled amongst other eateries in a quaint shopping strip in the outer East.

It's not a very large restaurant, having around 12 or so tables. The inner decor is modest and true to its Chinese heritage. It did not take long, at all, for the entire place to fill-up... not a seat remaining. There is a lot of atmosphere, customers talking and laughing and seemingly many repeat customers who chatted with the staff. Many of the customers on that Friday night were of Asian heritage - with the cuisine having a Chinese influence, this is a good sign (my friend tells me) as they know quality, authentic Chinese food!

We certainly weren't disappointed. All of our meals were absolutely delicious, the three of us agreed. Our entrees consisted of the spring rolls and curry puffs. We had corn soup, the duck hot-pot, the chicken and mushroom hot-pot, and a yellow noodle dish with mixed seafood pieces. All mains were very generous in size, you will not leave hungry. The mock-duck was sensational and the prawn and other seafood so tasty. A complimentary plate of sliced orange and agar-based (vegan) jelly, with toothpicks, was given to us, at the end, which was very refreshing.

It was such a lovely experience. No alcohol is served, nor is dessert or coffee, but there are a number of other places open along the strip for after-meal drinks. The host and staff were very accommodating and friendly. I will certainly be ordering regular vegan take-away from this place, until the next visit.
