Stop here for coffee and great locally grown fruit and veg
The Glass House Mountains is a great place for views and hiking. There are also a number of coffee shops. My favourite for coffee, cake, food and locally grown fruit and vegetables is Vecchio's Cafe on Steve Irwin Way. If I can, I always stop in here.
Vecchio's is a great place to do your weekly fruit and vegetable shopping
Vecchio's is the perfect stop off on the way home, whether you were visiting the Glass House Mountains or somewhere else. If you are travelling down the Bruce Highway you need to remember to take the detour through the Glass House Mountains from Glenview, However it is the natural scenic route from places like Maleny.
The cafe offers a range of meals, drinks and of course, coffee. Normally we stop in there for coffee and cake, which is excellent. As they grow their own pineapples, one popular option is the pineapple juice. It is also a great place for lunch or a light meal. While the meals are nothing special, they are typical country cafe food.
Vecchio's Cafe and Fruit Shop on Glass House Mountains Road
I really enjoy stopping in here on the way home. Sure coffee and cake sounds nice, but I love the opportunity to do some fruit and vegetable shopping. They grow some of the fruit themselves, especially the pineapples. You also have the option of picking your own strawberries when they are in season.
Quite a lot of the fruit and vegetables are locally grown. The produce here is far better than the supermarkets and rivals many of Brisbane's markets for price and quality. They also have a range of locally produced gourmet products as well. This is one of the great local shops and always worth visiting.
