Thousands of Santas are coming to town
People often wear fancy dress to the City to Surf and other charity runs. If you've always wanted to dress up but never had the nerve, here's some good news. In the Variety Santa Fun Run the only people who will look out of place are those not wearing costumes.
Will the real Santa please stand up?
Variety is a national non-profit organisation that raises funds to provide assistance to sick or disadvantaged children. Variety sponsors recreation and education programs, provides equipment and many other services to children in need. The Santa Fun Runs are held throughout Australia. Last year more than 1,200 Santas ran in Perth and raised $40,000.
Walking is fun too.
Enter as a team, family or individual and then run, walk, skip, push prams or wheelchairs over the 4-kilometre course. The course starts and finishes at the Fremantle Esplanade and wanders through the shopping district and along the cappuccino strip. At the finish line there's entertainment, a sausage sizzle and more.
Don't own a Santa suit? No problem - registration includes a five-piece suit or a Santa hat for the under-5s.
