Now in its second year, the fun run is organised by Variety, The Children's Charity, and aims to raise funds for Queensland children who are sick or disadvantaged.
Runners are encouraged to find sponsors for their run, with various prizes up for grabs for the highest fund-raisers as well as the race winners and best dressed junior runners. The 2010 fun run raised over $250,000 and Variety hopes to equal or even top that this year and make a difference to the lives of many young people this Christmas.
Registration fees are $40 for adults and $25 for children (under the age of 2 are free), with $5 taken off the individual fees if you enter as a team. This includes the cost of the Santa suits which are provided by Variety.
This year's Brisbane run route will begin and end at Kurilpa Point Park, West End, criss-crossing from Southbank to the Botanical Gardens and back again.
So get the whole family into the Christmas spirit in a novel way this year and give back to the community while having a whole lot of fun in the Santa Fun Run.
