Ho Ho Ho and all that! It's time for the jolliest event of the year with the 7th Annual Variety Santa Fun Run happening at Circular Quay on Sunday 6 December. Registrations are now open for this 5km accessible fun run (insert 'easy') so there is no excuse not to join in and help raise funds.
Santas of all shapes and sizes help Variety - the Children's Charity.
First Fleet Park is where the run begins (next to MCA building) and more than 5,000 people are expected to walk, stroll or run the route along Sydney's spectacular harbour foreshore. All Santas are hoping to raise $250,000 so Variety can continue to help families with kids who are sick, disadvantaged or with special needs.
Get together and form a team to register then have all your family, friends, and colleagues sponsor your team. This is a team-effort in the funnest sense, which is the true spirit of Christmas - giving whilst having fun. "The Variety Santa Fun Run is always such a hoot! We've got lots of great surprises in store for our Santas this year, so come and join the fun," says Tam Johnston, CEO of the charity.
There will be lots of Christmas-themed festivities on the day including #santasquad selfie, a giant snow dome, snow machines, a Christmas village and live DJ. Lots of fun, laughter and surprises are guaranteed at this fun run around Sydney's iconic harbour. A fun run for a charity that helps kids who need help all year round, not just at Christmas. Dig deep and make the 2015 Santa Fun Run the best yet!
