Raising money for kids by being a Claus for a Cause.
Be a Claus for a Cause in one of the cheeriest runs, walks or rolls around Melbourne's glorious Albert Park Lake you'll ever do.
Held annually in support of Variety the Children's Charity, the Santa Fun Run is suitable for all ages and levels of fitness. Run the 10km circuit, stroll the 5km route or meander the 2km shorter distance.
It's a fun novelty event with every registrant receiving their very own Santa suit to wear during the event, complete with fluffy white beard. It's a wonderful sight as families run, walk, push prams and have a great time.
This year the proceeds will support children needing assistance dogs. The dogs, which cost $30,000 each to train, give children with special needs much needed mobility, confidence and self esteem. Variety currently has two outstanding applications for these wonderful assistance dogs.
Families are invited to bring their dogs along for the morning. It all kicks off from 7.30am, depending on what event you enter. Registration costs $50 for adults and $25 for children. Come and join Mike Larkan, Network Ten's weatherman and ambassador for the event.
