Gift Certificates for Mother's Day Cooking Classes

Vanilla Zulu offers professional cooking classes, often taken by people looking to open their own cafe, bed & breakfast or find a break into the industry. They also offer cooking classes for anyone who wants to be better in the kitchen. These classes include both simple and complex recipes, with the emphasis on adding some pizzazz (or what Mel Townsend, the owner, calls 'Bling', to the meal).

The cooking classes are a lot of fun. You mother doesn't have to attend alone, you could buy two classes at the mother's day price and attend with her, (or she could attend with her husband or a friend.)

The classes are not hard but introduce you to many new techniques and skills along with plenty of tips and tricks. They are a well balanced combination of items already prepared, demonstration and hands on activity. In other words, you get to the interesting bits while the trainer and her team do the boring bits.

Instead of seeing it as just a cooking class, it is a good idea to bring a bottle of wine, some loved ones and friends, and basically have a wonderful dining experience where you are also working together to make the food you will eat. Oh and take a camera to show off what you cooked to your friends.

I made this, it isn't half bad. Needs to be neater next time.

This special ends on Mother's day, but you can use the gift vouchers at any time. The classes are in the evenings on weekdays, and during the day on weekends. Some example classes include: Eat Yourself Sexy, Spanish Tapas, Rustic Italian, Modern Thai Fusion, Mediterranean, African and Middle Eastern.

If your mother isn't into cooking maybe you should do one of the courses yourself and cook her a nice meal, or try out some of the Mel Townsend's recommended Mother's Day recipes, such as Purple Carrot Cake and Pumpkin, Parsley & Parmesan Scones.
