If you're a fan of the post-impressionist work of Van Gogh, then you probably already know about the Van Gogh Alive experience. And now it is finally coming to Perth. If you aren't aware of this event, then you are in for a treat.

Born in 1853, Van Gogh had quite a tragic life. He was a self-taught artist, who saw the world differently. He was inspired by many artists, including Monet and Gauguin. Although starting to paint professionally late, he painted more than 2,000 pieces in his lifetime. Unfortunately, when he died, he had only sold 1. He died penniless in 1890. Now, they are sold for millions both at auctions and in private sales.

The incredible works of Van Gogh, along with other images are all displayed interactively, with a beautiful musical score playing at the same time. There are over 3000 images on display. The paintings and pictures take you through the Netherlands (where he was born), Arles, Saint Rémy and Auvers-sur-Oise, which were all very important in inspiring Van Gogh's work.

There are lights, colours and of course, the artwork on the walls and floors. It is completely interactive and totally amazing. This multi-sensory experience will leave you desperate for more. Walking through and seeing parts of Starry night swirling on the floor while a string piece of music plays gently in the background really is an ethereal moment.

What's more is, you are able to enter Van Gogh's bedroom as well. You can enter the sunflower room (based on the amazing Sunflower painting), which is so beautiful. And pretty great for your selfies too.

There is even a cafe, recreated to look like Van Gogh's work, Cafe Terrace at Night. They are also selling glasses of Taittinger or a bottle of Sapporo. and You can also get yourself a gift from the Van Gogh themed Gift Shop.

This beautiful exhibition is on at the Supreme Court Gardens from May 27th for a limited time only.
