Alex Duval's second Vampire Beach novel

The second book in the Vampire Beach series has me enthralled. Jason's childhood friend hitchhikes from Michigan to Malibu. Jason's so excited that an old friend has come that he lets some of Tyler's odd behavior go. That is until Tyler steals from the vampires that lands them both in a heap of trouble.

Like the first book, Initiation is an easy and quick read. But a book that I couldn't put down. It was as sassy, edgy, sexy and suspense filled as the first one. Yet, we see more of a human side of the vampires, especially Zach's role in this book. It made them seem all the more normal.

Duval's writing style is simple and easy to grasp but it has a hypnotic effect on it's readers too. It takes you into their world and makes you forget the reality that you're in. It captures your mind and let's you feel what the characters feel and move inside the story freely. This is exactly the type of book that teens would like to sink their teeths in and some adults too.
