Love is in the air, everywhere I look around...Oh and what a perfect time to be in love. The weather's warming up, (maybe a little too much), the birds are a-chirping, and of course February means, VALENTINE'S DAY!

I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, and most people don't see the point in the glamorization of another commercial money making day. However, I like to look on the bright side of life, and that means enjoying the day for what it is, an excuse to celebrate that magical four letter word. Yes ya'll, L.O.V.E.



Whether you're celebrating with a special someone, a friend, a pet or you're considering plucking up the courage to confront a crush and tell them how you feel (do it), Valentine's Day is indeed a romantic and mushy day for all. In saying that, it's one of the only days you can get away with being a complete and utter cheese ball, particularly in public. I'm not the P.D.A (Public Display of Affection) type, and to be honest, I find it kinda awkward seeing others freely go at it. I guess on Valentine's Day however, I can make an exception. It is after all, the day of love. Haven't you seen Love Actually? That movie says it all.



Flinders Street Market will be hosting this lovely event for all you lovers out there looking for something fun to do this Valentine's weekend. Not just one, but two days of market goodness, including beautiful handmade cards, deliciously scented candles (to get you in the romantic mood), gorgeous locally grown flowers (note: men), handmade jewellery, delectable chocolates and more. This event honestly just had me at chocolates. Of course, an array of vintage items and crafts will be available, because what's a market without some pre-loved bargains. On the Sunday, a secret Valentine's gift swap will take place.

One thing that I love about markets, is that I can have a chat with the creators of my gift, and with artists who share a passion for creativity. It's great to get involved and meet new people and make new friends! Who knows, you may even meet that special someone. The universe works in mysterious ways...
