One of the most popular ways to celebrate Valentine's Day is to take the special person in your life out for a romantic dinner. You're normally guaranteed ambient candlelight, gorgeous food, and it's a nice way to spend an evening, on cupid's favourite day.
As recognised in the New York Times recently, Perth is fast becoming a real mover and shaker on the gastronomic scene, so there's never been a better time to head out for a bite to eat with your heart's desire. With many restaurants putting on a special Valentine's menu, here are some top choices for you to consider when planning your romantic date:
C Restaurant , the romantic revolving restaurant in the sky, offers a special Valentine's four course menu priced at $155 per person to include a special shared dessert. If you're out to impress you can pay an additional $40 to secure a window seat for views out and over Perth and beyond.
Bistro Guillaume based at the Crown complex in Burswood, is a beautiful French restaurant that offers an impressive menuwhich includes a bottle of champagne per couple and canapes on arrival. It's not cheap, at $185 per person, but the menu will have your mouth watering and the quality is outstanding.
Due to its popularity, you can book in for your Valentine's meal at Nobu at one of the two seating sessions offered at this restaurant, either 6pm or 8pm. The set Omakase menu is comprised to take you on a culinary journey, so perfect if you want to impress your food loving partner. Prices start at $170 for an eight set courses.
Over in Swan Valley, enjoy your Valentine's evening at the award winning Sittella Winery where for $91 a person, you can enjoy a fantastic dinner complete with complementary glass of Sittella sparkling wine on arrival. This romantic evening will include candlelight and live music to entertain you.
If you are a fan of sea food, head to Mosman's restaurant where they're not only offering a special menu on Valentine's day, but for the whole of Valentine's week, you can pay an extra $40 to receive a glass of sparkling wine on arrival in addition to a sumptuous plate of chocolate dipped strawberries and macarons. The Valentine's Day menu is a special one priced at $189 per person for five courses, sparkling wine on arrival and a rose for the ladies. Live music will set your soundtrack for the evening, courtesy of local musican Ben Merito.
Based on the Drovers Place industrial estate near Joondalup, Three Leaves is serving up a budget friendly $40 per person Valentine's Day menu featuring a choice of salmon or steak for its main course item followed by a yummy chocolate pudding.

Head to Hillary's this Valentine's Day for a romantic feast at Ishka Restaurant. Enjoy a four course meal (plus chocolates) with no less than four choices for your main course. My money is on the ridge eye fillet served with spinach and goats cheese gnocchi, shallots and tomatoes - yummy. It's not a cheap option at $115 per person, but this also includes a glass of the delectable Veuve Cliquot rose on arrival.
