Do something really unique for Valentine's Day this year and visit the Perth Observatory. The Perth Observatory will be hosting a special Valentine's Day Night Tour on February 14th from 8pm to 9.15pm for star-struck couples. Tickets will be $50.00 for adults, $40 for concession card holders and $30.00 for children.
The tour will take you through the museum where you will be able to see historical instruments on display, an exhibit devoted to meteorites, space-themed photographs and artwork and the Atlas Coelestis, which was the first Star Atlas ever published based on telescopic observations, all the way back in 1729.
The tour guides will also show you and your partner how to look through some of the telescopes they have available. Gaze at astronomical wonders like Nebulas, dying stars and star clusters.
It is recommended that you arrive 15 minutes early before the start of the tour and dress warmly because the star viewing sessions are held outside in the dark and it can get cold.
It is also recommended that children must be at least 8 years old to come along because they will need to be able to understand and follow instructions.
