One of my favourite things each Valentine's Day is to come up with a different way to celebrate Valentine's Day. It's even better when I can come up with something that surprises my partner, as I'm awful at keeping secrets, so it's a quite the feat when I can surprise him.
So here is a list of ways to celebrate Valentine's Day that's a little different to the usual dinner, if you want to mix things up a little.
Descarga Latina Dance Party
Highball, with their romantic Cuban ambience, will be hosting a romantic evening, with cocktails and small plates. There will also be live music by the Mi Tierra, meaning you can dance the night away!

Picnic by the Lake
Weather pending, take a picnic basket and rug and have a picnic by the lake. You can pack our own picnic basket or grab one of the delicious boxes from Amici bar

Couples Cocktail Class
Instead of just drinking cocktails, mix it up and learn how to make some. Couples will get to learn to make three classic cocktails, then be able to jump behind the bar and make one themselves. After the class, enjoy a complimentary date night cheese plate for two and the Descarga Latina.

Romeo and Juliet Screening
The Arc cinema at the NFSA will be showing the classic Baz Luhrmann edition of
Romeo and Juliet movie. Although it is a romantic tragedy, it's still a great Valentine's idea!

Kingpin Canberra Valentine's Day Sunday Session
Entrainment venue, Kingpin is hosting an over 18's Sunday session this Valentine's day. Tickets to this event include a Glass of Piper Heidsieck when you arrive, Choice of 2 activities, Unlimited arcade games, $25 to spend on food as well as live music.

10 Things I Hate About You Screening
If a romantic tragedy isn't your thing, then perhaps the screening of the comedy
10 Things I Hate About You is. Dendy will be showing a special, with premium lounge tickets including a drink on arrival, pot of tea, and a mix of sweet and savoury items.

Valentine's Day Clean Up
Show your love to Mother Nature and join the Trash Gather group as they clean up John Knight Memorial Park. If you can bring some gloves and claw sticks, but don't worry if haven't got any as there will be some to borrow!
