Love is on the menu
At Harry's Restaurant, in the heart of Melbourne, love is not just in the air but on the menu this Valentine's Day.
The menu has been created by Stamford Plaza's Executive Chef, Ketan Seth who has previously worked at other fine hotels such as the Atlantis Palm and Raffles in Dubai as well as some of Melbourne's top establishments including the Langham and Crown.
With such an diverse background it is not surprising that his dishes are often a cosmopolitan array of European, Asian and Middle Eastern influences. The results are stunning.
The three course dinner menu is in a delightful romantic setting. And whereas the cuisine is first class, the meals at the Stamford are quite affordable. This special evening costs $45 per person for 2 courses and $65 per person for 3 courses

I had to look up what an Eton Mess is. Apparently it was invented at the famous Eton College in Windsor England and from the 1930s it was the school's annual prize giving celebration dessert every June.
While no doubt Kean Seth will put his own amazing spin on it the original was created from strawberries, meringue and ice-cream or cream.
Eton College has had a long list of distinguished pupils, including Prime Minister David Cameron and Prince William so you'll be in good company if you decide on this dessert option.
Of course there is another option when you dine at a hotel. You could round off the night with a romantic stay in one of their spacious suites.
You have to love the way Stamford Plaza are marketing their romantic package below. It is the funniest piece of advertising I have seen in years.
As the clips shows, if you can stop laughing, is that there will be all kinds of things to add to the romance including soft music, champagne, candlelight, a selection of canapés and chocolate-dipped strawberries and a bed scattered with rose petals.
Of course there are fluffy bathrobes and exquisite toiletries so you can have a lovely soak in the bath as well.
Breakfast in bed and no need to check out until midday.
If you do want to poke your head out of your room there is also a gym and a swimming pool.
Another inclusion is a boxed bottle of wine that you can personalise with a message to remember this special occasion.
For as some bright spark once said: "Trip over love, you can get up. Fall in love and you fall forever."
