Valentine DayZ - Film Review

Valentine DayZ (2018) is a delightfully bizarre horror film with elements of action and comedy, set in the days leading up to Valentine's Day.
The zombies, with their bright pink, sometimes glowing eyes, add a unique visual twist to the usual undead tropes. Their erratic behaviour makes them a dangerous threat, creating both suspense and action-packed moments throughout the film. While the outbreak leads to a high-stakes fight for survival, the film doesn 2019t take itself too seriously- there 2019s a playful, satirical tone that weaves in conspiracy theories and pandemic paranoia, keeping things unpredictable. The film's quirky humour is something which seems to divide audiences, while some viewers love it, others find it too out there for them to bear.
Max (played by Dallas Valdez), one of the lead characters, has a mysterious past that surfaces as the chaos unfolds. His fight for survival in this new world brings plenty of action, while strange characters and bizarre situations keep the tension high. The film mixes horror with elements of action & comedy, offering moments of levity that balance the more intense scenes.
Valentine DayZ shines in its practical effects, with minimal reliance on digital effects, giving the film a more interesting visual feast. The beautifully filmed desert locations add to the desolate atmosphere of the zombie apocalypse, making the environment feel as much a character as the people.
The film is peppered with references and nods to other films and even a few songs, adding to the fun for genre fans and be sure to stick around for the mid-credit scene for an extra little showdown.
If you 2019re a fan of offbeat zombie films that don 2019t take themselves too seriously, this one is definitely worth checking out.
