Aveley Adventure Park

A new adventure playground in Aveley has opened (October 2017) that will be a winner for all children, but particularly if you have a dinosaur loving child. The park is dinosaur themed with hidden fossils in the sand for all to find.
It is set within large green open spaces (perfect for picnics or ball games), with lovely panoramic views over a lake with a fountain.
The park is not enclosed, but partially fenced from the lake and is close to a road. I feel your child will be more interested in the play equipment than the road though, but usual parenting responsibilities will apply.
The overall feel of the park is one of nature and very natural which is due to the amount of wood and bark mulch throughout. There are many wooden stepping 'stones' at various points of varying heights which were well used when we visited.
There is a timber maze, troughs for water play, a dual flying fox, musical instruments, a pyramid climbing net, a couple of slides, birds nest swing, a tunnel covered with climbing rocks and of course, the main sand area where the fossils are hidden.
The two slides connect to the main sand play area and are on green rubber matting. One of the slides is enclosed and mainstream, but the other slide is something I have never seen before. It is like lots of rolling pins individually attached which roll when sat on. "Bumpy' was the reaction from my daughter.
There are some nice wooden art pieces to admire and big logs to sit on.
The network of paths will be enjoyed by children riding scooters (on less busy days).
There are bins, seating and benches (one covered) dotted around, a water fountain, BBQ station, but no toilets. There is limited street parking available.
This is the perfect place to spend a few hours and best suited to children under 10. It is very close to the enclosed dog parks and skate park in Aveley, so there really is something for every member of your family.
