Brisbane local with an interest in all things, food, coffee, health, wellbeing and fitness and random weekend adventures.
We're now in a world where so many of us are drowning in stress, juggling (a.k.a attempting to juggle) the day to day and in a constant state of busyness. We find ourselves daydreaming and yearning for some time out. Some 'me time'. Some sort of escape from reality. Even if it is for a moment. And I think I may have found just the thing.
Urban Yogi Retreats have listened and are coming to the rescue on Saturday 7th July. Yasmin (of Keshava Yoga) is the creator of Urban Yogi Retreats and has been running sessions in and around Brisbane for about a year.
Yasmin will help us through
So what exactly is an Urban Yogi Retreat? It's a half day retreat designed to help you quiet the mind, leaving you with a sense of rejuvenation and relaxation. The retreat is jam-packed with things to tempt your mind, body and soul – picture this… an asana class, Pranayama (which is yoga breathing), meditation, vegetarian cooking class, relaxation, eating, kirtan and yoga wisdom. Sounds good, huh?
Now… I know you might be thinking, well, I've never done yoga. Well, it doesn't matter. Or maybe you're worried because you've never been successful in meditation? Maybe your mind wanders to what you're going to make for dinner, or what you needed to pick up at the shops, or you started composing that email in your mind. Don't worry, we will be guided through. Not sure what to expect? Why not come along and give it a try? These half-day retreats are suitable for all levels of experience regardless if you're an expert or just finding your feet.
To top it off, it's an affordable day out with tickets starting at just $20 for a concession and $25 for a general admission adult. Included in the price, you will also get to take home your very own goodie bag. Spaces are limited, so make sure you snag your spot early and purchase your ticket through Eventbrite by clicking here.
The four-hour retreat kicks off at 11am and will be held in the Albion Peace Centre (102 McDonald Road) in Windsor.
Spoil yourself and take some much needed (and well deserved) time out for you. A good opportunity to leave the kids, the husband, the wife, the cat or the dog at home, and escape. Do something nice for yourself… even if it is just for that moment.

Even if you can't make it on the 7th, keep your eye out as there are plenty other sessions running over the coming months. You deserve it.
