Urban Climb is the best indoor climbing gym in Brisbane
If you love climbing or if you are new to this world but want to learn how to do it right - it is the place for you.
Urban Climb is not just a climbing club - it's a real gym! With lots of climbing walls, some bouldering routes, some gym facilities and yoga classes, all with great music around - it's the place with the right atmosphere, even for a lazy people like me, to start moving their ass!
The first step is finding a climbing partner, because this is a sport made for two - one is climbing and the other one is belaying. Doing this sport as a couple also makes it a social sport - despite the fact that the achievement is individual, it really helps when your climbing partner encouraging you and sometimes giving you advice from down under ...
You don't necessarily have to come there with a friend - you can find someone to climb with at the gym or find someone who wrote a note on the notice board, or just do bouldering by your own. Is it easy to climb? You don't need to worry about knowing nothing about climbing or belaying. When you arrive at the gym for the first time, the staff will provide you a short course teaching you all the basics you'll be need, which is included in the entry fee. Soon you'll find you can do it by yourself. Naturally, you gonna start with the easiest trails, but I can assure you that you'll get improved very soon!
On each climbing trail there are few sub-trails, marked by colour and a number, which defines their difficulty. You're obviously gonna start with the yellow marked trails, then try the blue ones. When you go to the purple ones- here's when you're really start climbing. Then you can reach the green, red and finally the black trail. Will I enjoy it?
Like in every sport on earth, you need to give it some time and practice before you really start enjoying it and for your body not to feel that stiff. I'd recommend to give it at least once a week in 3 consecutive weeks for you to know if that's the right sport for you. But I can promise you that you're gonna smile all the way up (and down)/ One of climbing advantages is that this sport offers you with the immediate satisfaction of achievement - as soon as you've finished the trail.
Oh, and I forgot to mention one of the best parts of climbing at Urban Climb - beautiful people. If you always wanted a muscular boyfriend (or girlfriend) you better hurry up to Urban Climb!
What should I wear for climbing? Not anything particular. Some cool people wear jeans. But I would recommend wearing comfy cloths, such as T-shirt and exercise shorts, like the ones you'd wear for gym. You must have climbing shoes and a harness- you can rent both at the gym.
What else can I do at Urban Climb Gym?

There is one class at Thursday 17:30 and another one on Saturday 10:15. Yoga is free for members and $15 for non members. The aim of the class seems to be strengthening your muscles so you can climb better. The classes are not too easy but really rewarding.
